He has been DSR's Secretary for about 6 months and has been approved by the board to be our Soccer League Coordinator. He has been a DSR coach for over two years. Rick will be heading up new soccer clinics running Spring 2010.

Spring Soccer Clinics: Rick Ory will be offering a 4 hour clinic ending in a scrimmage for ages 8 - 15 co-ed. Specific dates are yet to be determined. However, the clinics will be offered one Sunday a month April, May and June. Each participant will receive a t-shirt. Cost for each clinic is $25.00
Munchkin Soccer Rules & Objectives
The purpose of the Munchkin Division is to have fun, while learning the basics of soccer. Since this is most children’s first time playing, we mainly focus on the following skills: 1.) Properly kicking the ball
2.) How to throw-in the ball
3.) Knowing what is in/out of bounds
Along with these skills, we also will be teaching the following basic rules: 1.) NO Hands!
2.) Play stops when the ball goes out of bounds
3.) Proper throw-ins and kicks restart the game
In addition to teaching the children the skills and rules, we also focus on the fact that playing sports is fun, and a great form of exercise! For the Munchkins Division, the score of the games will not be kept. The coaches will make sure that every player has equal playing time, and gets an opportunity to try out every position. For this Division, it is all about positive reinforcement from our coaches to encourage the children to pursue soccer further! Therefore, we ask that our parents do the same!
